San Diego

Tessa, Scott, Nate, the little boys & I left on a Wednesday afternoon for Coronado Island. My dad was working there for a little while & had a really cool/modern apartment right on the water. How could we pass that up?! It was an 11 hour drive and the boys actually did much better than I had thought they would. Nate and I were excited to take Asher & Collin to the beach for the first time. The weather was in the 70's, but that didn't seem to stop them from loving the all the water & sand!

Later that evening grandpa stayed with the boys while the rest of us attended the San Diego Temple. I understand what all the fuss about it is now! It has got to be one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen...even with all the construction going on. :)

Friday was SeaWorld. We made it to most of the exhibits & the Shamu show. Asher bawled after leaving nearly every exhibit...he was in love & didn't want to leave! Collin was fascinated with the fish tanks. The Shamu show actually turned out to be a little dissappointing...the trainers aren't allowed to get in the water with the killer whales ever since that incident in Orlando. LAME! haha!

Tessa, Scott, Nate & I got to go back to SeaWorld later the next day to go on the rides- we got soaked!- and see the Dolphin show which was soooo cool. (Thanks again Papa for babysitting! I also want to thank Tessa & Scott who helped so much with our little guys...without their help, this trip wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable.)

The rest of our time was filled with early morning walks along the beach, late night walks along the beach, another afternoon at the beach (can you tell we loved the beach?), eating the most delicious Shrimp Enchiladas w/ White Cheddar Jalapeno sauce at Miguel's, church & an 11 hour drive back home (which didn't go as well)...I just wish we could have had one more day on Coronado because I fell in love...

(Asher took 4+ hour naps while we were there...a plus to long days outside!)

Isn't it so funny how kids love sand. As adults we try to keep it OUT of our mouths, eyes etc. Glad you had such a great time.

Looks dreamy! I want to visit San Diego now...a little too far away right now, but we'll get back there. BEAUTIFUL pictures, too.
