The boys had their well-checks the other day. Asher remains BIG for his age- in the 85%. Collin on the other hand is a lil' half-pint- in the 35%. What he lacks in size he makes up for in quirky attitude. His vocab is exploding right now...we were out driving, looking at Christmas lights & Collin just kept saying, "Wow! Pretty!" He and Asher are a riot. I love my boys, even when they get mad at me for dressing them too cute...

Turkey Day
We had a great Thanksgiving! The trip was not without its highs and lows. Let's just get the bummer parts out of the way.. Huge snow storms & a little Collin who hates car rides made driving to and from Colorado a nightmare. Also, Asher ended up getting strep throat the last day we were there. Poor buddy.
But the highs were many- our feast was amazing. We had ELEVEN different kinds of pie. We played an insane amount of board games with minimal fighting. :) We went Christmas shopping. Nate and I had lots of date time. We visited my grandparents. We looked at Christmas lights. But, most importantly,
almost all the gang was there! (We missed you Bri!) We had our Turkey Bowl champs:
My mom and dad hosted us. They are such loving, attentive grandparents...
We went out to the barn to see Wishes and watch Tessa ride for a bit. The boys had a great time running around & seeing the horse.
As with other visits, this one was over too soon. Thankfully everyone will be at our place for Christmas in just a few weeks. Yay!

animal lovers
Last week we headed to Thanksgiving Point to visit Farm Country. I knew it would be a big hit with Asher- ALL he talks about are animals...he will not go to sleep unless he has his Tiger, Puppy & Monkey close by. It's very cute. Collin also digs stuffed animals. He sleeps with a jaguar in his crib.
Asher's favorite animlas? The chickens and goats. He cried whenever I would even suggest checking out the other animals.
Collin had his first-ever pony ride. He tolerated it. He looks like a little lone ranger...
Collin acts a lot like I
Guess who started sucking his thumb at 16 months? Yup, our little "doodle" does it all the time now. I love this next face! ...
Oh how I love my babies. Even if they do make constant messes & stress me out at times. I love that they call my name & that sometimes only mama can comfort them. I love that they both are such hams & love to make people laugh. (Lately Asher's way of making someone laugh is to refer to potty humor. And I admit that I usually think it's pretty funny.) I love that they love the Savior & often bring my their story-book scriptures to read. I love that they are just as obsessed with books as Nate and I are. I relish their cuddles and their soft, chubby bodies. Like my sis-in-law mentioned in a post recently, they are my babies, but not really. They are gifts-on-loan to me from their Father in Heaven. They were his babies first. And He loves them. I'm grateful that He has entrusted Nate and I with some of His most precious spirits. I can't begin to describe how much I look forward to all the babies He has in store for our little family. Above all, I am grateful to know that we can be together for all eternity.

more from Halloween
Despite the fact that Halloween night (Saturday) was dark, rainy & cold, we had a really great time getting the house ready & decorated. We baked & iced halloween cookies. Uncle Scott toasted some very yummy pumpkin seeds. We carved pumpkins in the morning and I was so impressed with the crass creative pumpkins this year! Nate, of course, did his classic barfing pumpkin. Take a look at the others...
I was proud of Asher! He dove right in and got messy!
In light of Asher's recent obsession with animals, we went for a zoo theme. Asher was a lion, Collin (true to life) was a monkey, and I was the zoo keeper. (see previous post) And yes, I am now a redhead. It's fun to switch things up! I didn't do ANY sewing this year, and eventhough I felt a little guilty about that, their costumes were pretty dang cute. And I loved not scrambling to finish costumes.
Asher finally go the hang of trick-or-treating- he would walk up to a door, we would knock, and he would say "Treat." It was pretty funny! Next year we need to teach him how to pick out the better candy- when he got to choose, he would grab suckers or smarties in lieu of chocolate. Crazy, right?!
Collin didn't care WHAT the candy was, as long as it was laden with sugar. He also didn't mind eating his treats WITH the wrappers on. What a silly little monkey-baby. :)
