the weekend

I have been chastised by some family members for failing to mention a few of Asher's (relatively) recent milestones. He can now say "Dada"- usually when he's excited by Nate coming home from work, and he also says "Mama"- usually when he is whining about something. What's up with that?! Oh well, it's heartwarming none the less. He also began taking steps by himself around Christmas time, and just today he took about 6 in a row! (Incented by mean mom taking away a box of packing peanuts.)

Last weekend, we began getting ready for Uncle Scott & Aunt Tessa & Uncle Derek who will be arriving for Asher's birthday later this week. Here are a couple cute pics we took along the way...

Asher and Nate have both been needing haircuts for a few weeks now, and I had had just about enough of all the shaggy locks & scruff. So, I went to Wal-Mart and here is how it all played out...

Clippers: $40

Plastic Cape: $5

Look on Nate's face when I informed him that I would be cutting his hair: Priceless. :)

I actually did a pretty good job! The sideburns were a bit tricky, and I vowed to YouTube a few videos on how to cut them properly. Nate had enough fun with the whole process that he went on to cut Asher's hair.
