my big boy

Ever feel like there is so much to blog about and by the time you get around to doing it, it feels like the info is too old to post?? OK- enough whining. I will totally understand if you skim through the novel I've written or just look at the pictures. Here are some goodies you may want to know:
At 5 months, Asher (who is nearly 6 months old), weighed 17.6 lbs. He's huge and looking more and more like a little boy- not a baby.

Asher experienced a high chair for the first time because I was tired of washing various fruits and veggies off his bouncy seat & the towel meant to protect his bouncy seat. It didn't work out as well as I would have hoped because our chubby baby can't quite sit up on his own for extended periods of time. Oh well- it made for cute pictures. Here he is at our house and then later at his Grandma & Grandpa Clegg's house.

Asher has hit some developmental milestones recently. A couple of weeks ago (maybe longer) he figured out how to roll both ways and can now do so a little too quickly. His negligent mother let him take a nap on her bed- went downstairs to talk to daddy and heard a sickening "thud" and then crying. I felt like I was gonna throw-up as Nate and I raced upstairs to our room. Within a few minutes Asher was smiling, laughing & playing again- only a little red bump above on his forehead. We checked for signs of concussion, and even though I knew he was okay, I still feel awful. I know accidents are going to happen to him, but hopefully no more will be as a result of his mother being stupid.

In addition to rolling, Asher can now scoot backwards! I don't know how else to describe it- he gets his knees under him and pushes up on his arms (like he is about to crawl) and then he just pushes back. Here he is after scooting backwards under the couch! He loves playing with paper, so I usually let him crinkle up the grocery ads. (I have to take them away after he has soaked them with his slobber because then he tries to eat the pieces.) Such a cutie boy...

Finally, Asher is totally teething. You can actually see his teething coming up/down! I can't believe it...6 months is just around the corner. Wow- time really does fly!

Don't worry about him falling, Nathan fell asleep with Kate on the couch with him and woke up to her falling off...whoops! Cleaning food off of EVERYTHING does get old fast does it! I can't believe he's teething! Does it seem to be bothering him at all?

He's huge! What a cutie-pie! So we put Brayden in his Bumbo chair. It comes with a tray and it helps him sit up. That's what we feed him in and it just wipes off. Looks like fun!
