Gobble Gobble!

We got to have Thanksgiving twice this year- once with Nate's family & again (on the actual day) with mine. And of course, in both families, the number of pies was far greater than the number of main-course items. I'm happy that my boys finally discovered a love for pie!

Asher was cute about the turkey. He was really excited about helping me pick out a turkey at the store (and to eat it), but he felt very confused when he saw the dead, frozen bird. I had to explain multiple times that the bird was dead- the feathers, head & feet had been removed so that we could roast & eat it. Asher was in denial for a while...insisting that the turkey was swimming, when in fact it was thawing in a sink of water. It was a good lesson in understanding where our food comes from. (Something I feel like I should probably give thought to more often.)

The boys learned a lot about the Pilgrims and Indians at school. I felt it was my duty as a registered Native American to set the boys straight about this country's history. :) Anyway! Here are some super cute Pilgrims & Indians for you to feast your eyes on. Get it?? Feast??? hehe!

Gramma Bartlett and I got to drink out of plastic kids cups this Thanksgiving, because the boys insisted on drinking their Martinelli's in "fancy cups".
