TWO > ONE

Caring for two very young boys can be tough. Everyday I try my best to meet the needs of Asher & Collin. Not just meet their needs...I worry about them and how well of a job I am doing nurturing & raising them. Can they feel how much I love them? Are they getting enough attention from me? Do they have enough learning activities throughout the day? Am I rasing them to be righteous, disciplined, happy boys? (just to name a few.)

Some days this job has reduced me to tears. (It's those days that I feel thankful to have married such a sweet, patient man.) Most days I fall into bed completely exhausted.

Two is harder than one. But two can also be much, much better than one! For instance, the other day I just got so happy seeing two booster seats at our kitchen table. It's the little things, right? :) Oh how I love my boys! Check out what Collin is up to in these next pictures...

two is twice the work but twice the love. Isn't it great they will always have each other?

Cortney, a few things: First, I'm sure you are an excellent mother. You have a terrific mom (for many reasons, including her mastery of cow plops and sheet cake!) and I have no doubt you're following in her footsteps. Second, I'm sure it's completely exhausting having two young, young boys, but I can honestly say that I'm someone who is completely jealous of your life! I always wanted to have my kids nice and close together, but it just hasn't made sense for us to have another one yet (considering we keep moving all around the world at random intervals). So I'm definitely going to miss a lot of the funny, crazy moments that you are going through because Kip will be so grown up by the time he has a sibling. So, just keep enjoying the little joys amid the chaos and imagine that somewhere there is someone who would actually be thrilled to live in your crazy world :)

Dear Cortney,
You are a wonderful mother and the boys are so blessed that they are being raised by you and Nate .... and I'm sure you both are blessed to have Asher and Collin. I think you already have some wonderful stories to blackmail them with later in life.

I love that Collin is helping himself to Asher's food...and that Asher seems okay with that. Great pic's. If it makes you feel any better Nathan called me 3 times yesterday at work about at his wits end. Each time one of the girls was screaming their head off. He informed me at 4 (I don't get off till 6) that we would be doign take out as there way no way he was going to be able to make dinner :) It's just the way it goes, it's hard but I beleive the more work you put in on the front end the more you reap as they become young adults. The fact that you worry so much and are so conscious of their happiness etc makes you a good Mom.
