Campin'

In September we decided to squeeze in a camping trip before the weather got too cold. We tried going up American Fork Canyon since it's so close, but the only campsites remaining were gross. At the last minute, we decided to check out a new place near Mt. Nebo. My parents had gone ahead to scout out the location. As we Nate & the boys & I were driving into the area though, I would've thought we were in Arizona. Lots of dirt & brush...not too many trees. I kept thinking, "ugh..." But, we drove around a bend and suddenly everything was gorgeous! And wooded! Yay for green trees! I didn't bring my camera with us, so all you are gonna get are some blurry iPhone pictures, but believe me when I say we had a great time!

Don't worry, the ax was dull as heck.

Collin insisted on using the potty like the grown-ups. Why?! Anyway, thanks to Aunt Tessa who helped him achieve that goal...

Something new I learned this trip: NEVER tell Collin you are taking him on a hike. He will decide that his legs don't work & he can't walk another step. Not without bawling & scaring away all the forest creatures. Thank goodness for my dad who had the patience to lovingly get Collin calmed down & walking. :)

We absolutely LOVED camping with almost all of our children and grand-children! Your boys were all so good, slept great in our "Taj Mahal" tent, didn't try jumping into our campfire, didn't over indulge on our various cooked marshmellow concoctions...were an absolute delight! Let's go again this summer to the same place :-)
