On Saturday we celebrated Asher turning 3. Since he has been into dinosaurs lately, we went for a dino-themed party. I tried to keep it relatively simple with pizza, cake & presents... so glad I was talked out of the "dino dig" I had been dreaming up- I was stressed enough with just decorating his cake! We had a fun time & it was great to be joined by lots of family, including my parents and sister who drove from Colorado. (and thanks to the Ellis family, the Romneys & Rob & Mely & baby Ben for coming too!)
Asher is such an amazing kid. His imagination is incredible...one moment he is Lightning McQueen and I am Doc Hudson. The next he is Mittens and I am Bolt. Then we're Safari animals. He has a sweet, tender heart & loves to cuddle. He is gentle, especially with babies and animals. Asher has an infectious grin and loves to tease and joke with people. He is such a little clown.
He doesn't care for most veggies, but loves church nursery. In fact, one Sunday Nate and I were feeling sick and planned on leaving after the first hour, but as we were heading towards the car Asher began crying, "Nursery! Nursery!". What were we gonna do? Tell him "no more church today." ?? Nope. See...he keeps us on the strait and narrow. :)
Asher is a smart cookie & I love seeing his vocabulary grow every day. Although, the other day he pointed at my chest and very clearly said "breasts". Uh...not sure I remember teaching him that one! eek! Clearly he is soaking up conversations like a sponge. Kinda hoping that word doesn't come up in public. :)
I find it hard to believe that it has already been three years since Asher was born. What a wonderful and long-awaited day that was. He will always be special because he made Nate and I parents... We love our Asher. He brings so much happiness to our home. Happy 3rd Birthday Squirrelsy!

Happy Birthday Asher! Glad you all had a great time. That's funny about the breasts, Katherine asked Nathan if he had boobs the other day. He told her no, boys don't have boobs. This morning she infomred me "Daddy doesn't have boobs." I said nope, just nipples...which started a whole other conversation :)
Such a cute party! I cant believe he is already three! So crazy! Kids are such sponges, yikes! I love their little conversations, its precious...and embarressing!
