Sooo much has happened since I posted last.
Really, it all started when I got an email in Church on Dec. 12 from our landlords informing us that they needed us to be moved out by the end of the month. They had attempted a loan modification on their (our) home and it didn't work out...and they needed to move back in. I fought back tears, passed the phone to Nate...You see, not only was Christmas quickly approaching, but my entire family was coming to our house for the holiday. Have you ever tried moving in the middle of winter? It sucks. It's cold and hardly anything is on the market to rent.
Long story short, with the selfless & devoted help of my family we were packed up and moved out just 2 days after Christmas. We are settled & comfortable once again, but for the record this is the 7th time we've moved in the 5.5 years we've been married. I feel like a broken record, but I really mean it this time- I don't wanna have to move for a really long while.
That business aside, Christmas was wonderful!! I celebrated my 27th birthday with a girls' day out & red velvet cheesecake. We loved having my whole family to visit. Sleeping arrangements were a little hairy, but we had a chore chart & a menu for the week, so things went relatively smoothly.
Asher really got Christmas this year. Both the secular & spiritual side of it. He knew about the birth of our Savior & enjoyed talking about Baby Jesus. He also knew about Santa & Reindeer & would often sing "Jingle Bells" around the house.Collin loved dancing to the Christmas station music...and he & Asher only pulled the Christmas tree down once or twice. :)
Big hit gifts this year: the 4 Goldfish Aunt Bri got the boys (all of which are dead now). Buzz Lightyear from Grandma & Papa Bartlett. Loads of DVF clothes from Bri for all the girls. The complete LOST series DVD's for Nate. Money for Scott Derek. A remote control car for Scott. A cute camera bag, BBC dvd's & book classics for me. A Sultra bombshell curling iron for Tessa. And lots of Urban Outfitter clothes for Tara.
Work Christmas party. Lovely Clegg Christmas on the 22nd. Shot a wedding on the 21st. And we hosted a New Year's Eve fondue party. So all-in-all, December was quite a busy month!
And now, picture overload...
Here's to a 2011 with fewer moves...My goals for the new year? They're pretty simple, actually. Nothin' too crazy.
1) Have more consistant personal prayer & scripture study & FHE (family home evening)
2) Begin "Mommy Preschool" with the boys
3) continue to not bite my nails
