this is just depressing...

California Gay Marriage Ban Overturned

Our constitution is completely unraveling. ANYTHING can be overturned now. ANYTHING. Twice California was given a chance to vote on how they define marriage and TWICE it was decided that marriage is between one man and one woman. But ONE judge's ruling overturned a state majority? Sad. Just sad. And just in case anyone feels like disagreeing, just know that I will never be ashamed of where I stand on this issue...

My thoughts exactly....if a majority voted one way, and voted the same way TWICE - how can one judge overturn that vote? Very unconstitutional. I wonder if in the end this will end up going to the the Supreme Court for a final ruling?

You make Mormons look mean, hateful and judgmental.

Dear Anonymous-

At least I am not afraid to put a name/face to my opinion.

And I watched the video. It doesn't change how I feel, but I want you to know that I did watch it. My question is: where does it stop? Love. People love more than one person...should we make polygamy legal? There are people who say they can't help their attraction to and love (in a non-parental way) young children- should we discriminate against them if the "child" (let's say a mentally capable 15 year old) is willing and in love as well? What about people who are into having sexual relationships with animals? And don't scoff, because we all know there ARE people out there "into" that sort of thing. What if they want nothing more than to be married to an animal who seems to enjoy the sexual relationship as well?
It all comes down to where we draw the line...
Marriage is spiritual and religious in origin, so don't be upset that religions are getting so heavily involved in speaking out against gay marriage.
And if you would like to continue our discussion, please put a face to your comments.

Religion aside....how can 1 judge have the right to throw out the votes of 6,838,107 California residents? Almost 7 million votes have been disregarded. If my vote had been one of those I'd be livid right now.
I don't care if the issue is gay marriage, immigration, legalizing pot, or whatever...when the voters have spoken, and the majority have voted one way - those votes should not be allowed to be flushed down the toilet by 1 judge. period.

Well, they linked you to Keith Olberman, that's the first problem. I love it when these guys try to pull down the religious card, hum I guess God is a hater, cause he destroyed people for this kind of thing. He's the one who said no homo's and then said love thy neighbor. I guess God is the one they should take it up with, he sets the rules!
