Denver & Back

Asher and I just got back from a week-long trip to visit my family in Denver- we had a great time! I was nervous about flying with a baby by myself, but Asher did just fine and slept most the way. He loved the turbulance too! (The return flight was a nightmare...he cried/screamed a lot of the way. I tried everything to calm him down- walking up and down the aisle, pacifiers, bottles, nursing in the airplane bathroom...nothing seemed to work for longer than a few minutes. By the end of the flight I was in tears and Asher was bright red from screaming so long. oh well!)

This was Asher's first time meeting his Aunt Brianna & the two of them really hit it off! She was always getting him to smile and "talk". He has become quite the talker- very noisy at times too to get your attention! I love it!! It started snowing on Wednesday, and I insisted on putting Asher in this bear snowsuit that Nate picked out. I was planning on taking all these fun pictures of him in the snow, but the minute we got outside he started crying! Mom and I tried taking him for a walk, but we ended up turning around after half a block. It was really windy...not the fun kind of cold. I got my pictures anway. :)

Grandma and Asher at the eye doctor...he looks like Harry Potter baby! Most likely he'll end up in glasses anyway. His parents both have crappy vision. We did a lot of shopping in preparation for Tessa & Scott's wedding next week. Squirrels is like his dad- he can't take more than an hour or so of shopping...good thing he had Grandpa to hang out with! (I LOVE the Chicco travel system...Asher does too. Thinkin I might upgrade.)
Our dog Scout, always lurking in the background. He was very protective of the baby and never wanted to leave him. I just had to watch him because he was always trying to lick Asher's hair or fingers. I suppose his saliva does have healing properties! :) (haha- inside joke...)

My mom discovered that Asher is a tummy sleeper! The first night we put him to bed on his tummy, he slept over five hours!! Ever since then, he has done at least one 5-7 hour stretch at night. Nate and I are both proud and grateful...way to go Bean! (and yes, I chopped my hair)

Ok, so my parents bought this cheap bouncy seat...they paid like $20. We too have a bouncy seat at home. We paid over $50. Which one does Asher prefer??

The cheap one, of course! :) He mostly loved it for the turtle toy that hung off of it. He would stare at that turtle for a long time- talking to him, hitting him, etc. However, those two had a love/hate relationship. After about 10 minutes, Asher would start to "yell" at him...yelling would turn into furrowed brows and crying. It was like he was fed up with putting so much into the relationship and never getting anything back.
